Reflection on K-5 Math Teaching Resouces

K-5 Math Teaching Resouces

The purpose of this web resource is to provide free resources, math games, and hands-on math activities aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics for grades K-5. I would definitely use this math website because it is easy to use, and their resources are suitable for use in small or whole group settings. It also is easy to navigate from grade level to grade level. This website could teach me how to use math journals, math projects, and teach math vocabulary and resources. It can answer a lot of different questions about the different subjects areas within math as well.   I think this website could really help me gain more knowledge about my teaching because I will be able to see how I conduct my math lessons and activities with the ideas and strategies on this website. I think this would help me expand my resources on specific ideas in math. The most interesting aspect of the website are the resources on the side of the webpage such as E-books and classroom organization. There are ideas not only pertaining to mathematics, but as well as classroom organization, which I think is great to use. There are numerous resources for book stores for mathematics books, or specific math topics. Overall, this website is a positive and great resource to use for any K-5 teacher. I would definitely recommend this resource to someone else, especially K-5 teachers. It is organized and arranged in a way to make all links and ideas accessible for use. I think this website covers a wide range of topics within mathematics and would meet the needs of many elementary school teachers.

  1. When you begin teaching remember there are many good resources-- and most are free. As you use them you could post how well or not well they worked for your students here. Just an idea!
